On April 28th, senior leaders from LEOCH International, led by Mr. Dong Jie, President of R&D, joined partners from Tianjin GS, Shunde Yuasa, and Guangdong Yuasa for a strategic visit to GS-YUASA’s Kyoto headquarters. This visit underscores the deepening partnership between two global battery pioneers—uniting decades of innovation, strengthening collaborative R&D, and aligning strategic visions to accelerate breakthroughs in energy technology.
The LEOCH team toured the GS-YUASA Museum and product showroom, gaining a firsthand look at the company’s legacy — including its very first battery, produced in 1919. Historical archives and rare exhibits showcased GS-YUASA’s century-long commitment to precision engineering and continuous improvement. Mr. Dong Jie praised GS-YUASA’s innovation journey as a valuable industry benchmark, aligning closely with LEOCH’s own pursuit of excellence through technology-driven growth.
During a visit to GS-YUASA’s automotive battery production facility in Kyoto, the LEOCH team observed advanced processes including plate manufacturing, automated assembly, and intelligent quality inspection. The state-of-the-art equipment and green production impressed the LEOCH team. Both sides exchanged insights on enhancing production efficiency and achieving sustainable development. LEOCH representatives expressed strong interest in GS-YUASA’s experience in smart manufacturing, offering valuable insights to help LEOCH accelerate the digital transformation of its manufacturing operations.
In a strategic session, senior GS-YUASA team—including Mr. Takao Ohmae, Director of Automotive Batteries Business, Mr. Kazuto Nezu, Deputy Director, Mr. Yoshiaki Yamaguchi, Chief Technical Officer, and Ms. Yuuka Moriya, Director of Global Business Development—engaged in in-depth discussions with the LEOCH team. Topics ranged from global trends in new energy to core R&D strategies and supply chain collaboration. LEOCH reaffirmed its commitment to open innovation and win-win partnerships, working together to empower the global energy market with high-performance, future-ready solutions.
In addition to R&D collaboration, the two sides also explored opportunities for market cooperation. LEOCH and GS-YUASA pledged to jointly expand their presence in the transportation power market by enhancing channel development and brand visibility. GS-YUASA is committed to providing comprehensive support in areas such as technology development and talent training, aiming to strengthen local manufacturing and optimize sales networks for the GS and Yuasa brands. The partnership will enable both companies to better serve high-growth sectors like electric vehicles and energy storage systems, delivering smarter, more reliable energy solutions to end users.
This visit reinforced the foundation for future collaboration. Looking ahead, LEOCH will continue to deepen its strategic partnerships with global leaders like GS-YUASA, driving forward battery innovation and supporting the global transition to a sustainable, low-carbon future.
